Padfoot.

Mr. Sirius Black.

Yeah.. so.. at 25, I am finally going through the Harry Potter books. Yeah. I know. I should have been on this about 10 years ago. Better late then never though, I suppose.

I am really inspired by the vivid characters and visual storytelling. I can see why they are such a benchmark series. And of course, being a villainophile, I am obsessed with the entire "table of evil" in the book.. from Lucius to Voldemort, I am delighted with them all.

Sirus Black, however, is a good guy with some edge. Especially when he first shows up in The Prisoner of Azkaban.. all hollow-faced and wild-haired. He is kind of my crush. I liked him instantly. So, being inspired, I did a little sketch. This is only about 3 hours or so.. a bit slap-dash painted for my usual stuff. But he had to come out!

..And I know we all see him differently.  Such is the wonderful world of our imaginations.

Escape Artist

Taking a little break from drawing critters. Here is a brief caricature sketch of my favorite cellist, Zoe Keating.

Bison, Boffolods, and Goats.

Alright, I suppose it's time to finally put some art up on here. Everything I've been motivated to work on lately seems to be related to Windwomen and Old Rift.  I've decided to go with it. Why not? Builds my portfolio, gives me practice, and helps me visualize parts of the things I've been imagining for a long time.

Lately I've been focusing mostly on the cattle-culture that surrounds the Windwomen. Goats and buffalos and camelids and whatnots.

I especially like the last feller.. the Markhor goat. I think I'm going to continue on and create a series. :)

In other news.. 3 pieces in the spring show for AAU. I'm honored, but it's a little bittersweet.. since I'm no longer an Academy student. Exposure is exposure, though, and I'm happy to accept whatever comes my way.

*Tap Tap* Is this thing on?

CRAZINESS.

Just never-ending craziness. Work, come home, work on website, work on commissions, go to work, come home, do the same, and over and over again. Oh well. Say la vie. I'm just happy to actually be doing pretty well mentally since having to drop the Academy. It's been good to be able to pick up workshops here and there at Powell and keep up with the friends.

My mind has definitely been spinning with ideas and material to work on lately. After I get a few things out of the way, I'll be doing preliminaries for a few Windwoman digital pieces. I'll be keeping everything updated. :)
